Construction forward look w/c 8th June
We are pleased to provide the following information regarding planned construction activity for the week commencing 8th June. Please note that the work we have planned may sometimes change. We will do our best to keep you updated with any material changes that may affect you.
This week, the scaffolding to Block C will be removed in part and we will be continuing the installation of perimeter scaffolding to the four corners of Block D, along with work to the concrete frame by removing the face of the concrete using power tools. We expect to generate some noise as we work externally to break out and excavate concrete for the provision of new drainage runs in the area adjacent to Block C and D, using excavators with pecker attachments, rollers and removal wagons. This will take place intermittently throughout the week for short periods. As always, we will monitor noise and vibration levels daily to ensure these continue to remain within permitted levels.
With regards to Block F, we will continue the erection of scaffolding to the front of the building while making minor adjustments to the existing scaffolding on other elevations. Other ongoing work in this area includes the removal of block work to both the front and rear elevations by our workforce on the scaffolding. There will be a continuation of the excavation of the ground internally along with the installation of drainage runs externally, for which we will be using excavators with pecker attachments, dumpers, diggers and rollers both inside and outside. Internally, we will be installing new block work, fixing new brick ties and installing scaffolding which will generate some drilling noise as we safely fix this to the walls. In relation to the suspected material which was previously found within the floor void, tests on material found around pipework under the floor have proved positive for asbestos. The area has been safely sealed off during all investigations. Specialist contractors will commence safe removal of the material over the forthcoming weeks.
Elsewhere on site, concrete deliveries are expected during the course of the week as we continue with the foundations to Block F and Terrace 4. New brickwork will continue to Block E and Terrace 2 adjacent to Co-operation Road. A towable water bowser remains in use to dampen down work areas around the site on a regular basis. Following resident feedback we are implementing processes to reduce the impact of the generator located adjacent to Green Oak Crescent by procuring an acoustic quilt which will shroud the generator and reduce the noise impact to the neighbouring properties. We are currently awaiting delivery of the acoustic quilt and will update accordingly.
